I'm still going to post things, but maybe not always in the same way each night. We'll see what happens.
Devotional ds R
Prayer by mom and announcements:
Scripture: Doctrine and Covenants 101: 36-38
36 Wherefore, afear not even unto death; for in this world your joy is not full, but in me your bjoy is full. 37 Therefore, care not for the body, neither the life of the body; but care for the asoul, and for the life of the soul. 38 And aseek the face of the Lord always, that in bpatience ye may possess your souls, and ye shall have eternal life.
Quote by Joseph Smith:
"I do not regard my own life. I am ready to be offered a sacrifice for this people; for what can our enemies do? Only kill the body, and their power is then at an end. Stand firm, my friends; never flinch. Do not seek to save your lives, for he that is afraid to die for the truth, will lose eternal life. Hold out to the end, and we shall be resurrected and become like Gods, and reign in celestial kingdoms, principalities, and eternal dominions" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph Smith, p. 531).
Primary song: How Firm a Foundation pg 85
Hymn pg 196 Jesus, Once of Humble Birth

Math was done by ds R while the girls watched video on geography and history. Then they read and did hand writing. Ds R did hand writing by writing to an Aunt. Then lunch and gym.
Sorry I didn't post anything, I ended up chatting with a friend and now it's late. I will try and post in the am what we did today.

Announcements:
Scripture: Doctrine and Covenants 38: 24-27
"And let every man esteem his brother as himself, and practice virtue and holiness before me. And again I say unto you, let every man esteem his brother as himself. . . . I say unto you, be one; and if ye are not one ye are not mine."
Quote
Gordon B. Hinckley:
"[As Latter-day Saints] we must be friends. We must love and honor and respect and assist one another. Wherever Latter-day Saints go, they are made welcome, because Latter-day Saints are mutual believers in the divinity of the Lord Jesus Christ and are engaged together in his great cause.
"We speak of the fellowship of the Saints. This is and must be a very real thing. We must never permit this spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood to weaken. We must constantly cultivate it. It is an important aspect of the gospel" (The Teachings of Gordon B. Hinckley, p. 223).

Ds finished his math book from last yr and will be starting his new one tomorrow. He's super excited. Dd's N and S worked on simple work sheets for the last time. Tomorrow they will be doing their work books. Ds also worked on his computer science stuff and dd's did educational computer CD's.
We tried to start school the beginning of Aug, but too many things kept coming up, so we just did small devotionals. However, today was our first official day of being back to school so here we go.

Scripture: SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY:
Matthew 19:5
"For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh."
Quote:QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Howard W. Hunter
"I have wondered if restlessness and the endless searching for something new, something shinier, is the reason for the rate of divorce that seems to be spiraling in our societies. . . . The Lord has defined marriage for us. [Matthew 19:5] Surely the happiest marriages are those where your hurt is my hurt, my pain is your pain, my victory, your victory, my concerns, your concerns. The oneness of heart, of soul, of flesh seems to be more of a challenge than ever before in the world in which the question seems to be: 'What is there in this for me?' Far too many marriage partners have become merely an ornament on the sleeve rather than a part of the heart" (The Teachings of Howard W. Hunter, p. 137).

super excited.
I want to apologize for not having posted here for awhile. The summer weather has finally come, and being outside a lot more has tired me out sooner. So once it's evening time, my energy is spent and I'm too tired to post. So I'm going on a hiatus till Aug. That's when we will formally start our schooling again. Please don't "unfollow" just hang on. However, it is your choice of course. Again, so sorry and I hope you all have a great summer!
Well, I hate to say it, but we really didn't do much today. Which is frustrating because we didn't go anywhere. For some reason we were stuck on math for over 2 hrs so I just said stop. We then had lunch and then to make up for not doing much school, ds decided to clean out his room. Took him over 2 hrs. Looks much better.Anyway, you didn't sign up for this stuff. Tomorrow we will be on a field trip, so hopefully I'll have things to report about that.

"He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live. Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not . . . Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."
QUOTE OF THE DAY:Howard W. Hunter
"Men may be turned out of colleges as walking encyclopedias of facts, but if they cannot control their emotions, desires, and way of thinking, they are ships without a rudder, being blown about by the winds until they may be dashed to pieces. The world needs men and women of knowledge, but it has far greater need for men and women who can thoughtfully make application of that knowledge for a better and happier life" (The Teachings of Howard W. Hunter, p. 177).Primary song was " page#2 "I am a Child of God."
